Creating new organisational design solutions in order to promote the launch of new restaurant interiors
The introduction of new digital payment terminals located in the centre of McDonalds restaurants has already been an important qualitative improvement to facilitate customer traffic flow throughout the restaurant; breaking away from traditional fast-food ordering systems.
W devised and put into place a new system of welcoming customers with a client-based approach with the aim to introduce a “complete restaurant” experience. A new interior design layout was created that opened up the kitchen area to emphasize transparency and removed the central ordering desk, replacing it with a series of smaller restaurant ‘islands’ to make it more user-friendly. A salad bar area was also added to convey the idea of freshness and quality.
McDonald’s employees now welcome customers as soon as they arrive in the restaurant, helping them to order their food or offering table service. These important changes have helped to create a feeling of connectivity, conviviality and personalisation.
